On January 23, 2023, Mr. Yusuke Ozaki, an alum of NITKC, was a former member of the 12th “Tobitate! (Leap for Tomorrow) Program.” Now he is a graduate student at the Toyohashi University of Technology and is currently studying abroad at De La Salle University in the Philippines as an exchange student. Having Mr. Ozaki as a guest lecturer, the Global Career Education Lecture “Global Career for 15 to 24-year-olds” was held online.

Mr. Ozaki became interested in foreign countries while a student at the NITKC. That made him participate in a 10-day study program in Thailand as his first study abroad trip, where the new experience and knowledge enlightened him through engaging in on-site surveys and experiments. The study abroad experiences led Mr. Ozaki to the Toyohashi Technology University GAC (Global Technology Architect Course) to pursue further studies. Mr. Ozaki started living in a shared house with international students at the university. On his second trip to the Philippines, he was confronted with the problems of waste and poverty. To solve these problems, Mr. Ozaki planned thoroughly with the greatest passion; he has again been selected as a member of “the Tobitate! (Leap for Tomorrow program).”

Mr. Ozaki, remotely connecting from the Philippines, talked in detail about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on his study abroad experience, current activities, and English study from his experience. In addition, he shared his global career to date as well as his plans. NITKC believes that inspired by the lecture, our students continuously challenge themselves to study abroad.
