This year, the trip was held on January 22, 2022, although it is usually held in May. Six students from Takamatsu Campus, three from Takuma Campus, three students, and three faculty members participated in the field trip, visiting Okayama Castle, Okayama Korakuen, and Mitsui Outlet Park Kurashiki (shopping mall).

The international students gained a deeper understanding of Japanese history and aesthetic sensibilities through interaction with Japanese students and faculty. The shopping time at the outlet mall was likely a great refresher. At Okayama castle, the students held real Japanese swords and matchlocks (a historical type of firearm) with their hands. They interestingly listened to explanations about the relationship between the development of Okayama City and the Ikeda family.
